Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

As a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor at Canyonlands National Park, you will:
Supervise all maintenance employees in the Needles district. To ensure tasks are completed correctly and as directed you must work in the field with your maintenance employees. Perform the necessary administrative functions for employee supervision such as performance appraisals and other tasks. You will also manage an approved budget by authorizing expenditures, and monitoring operating costs. Ensure that the Needles district has well maintained facilities, safe drinking water and a functional power system. Work with the Chief of Maintenance to prepare annual work plans, input and submit facility management software system (FMSS) data, and provide projects, and help in submitting projects, for the service-wide comprehensive call (SCC). Oversee the water treatment facility and the water treatment operator. You must obtain and maintain a State of Utah Distribution Level I certificate within three months of entering the job. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
SCREEN OUT:
Ability to lead or supervise maintenance work, which includes scheduling and planning, as well as providing leadership and guidance to ensure the continued functioning of a maintenance operation. Managing multiple projects and tasks happening at the same time. Ordering materials and equipment to keep a maintenance operation running. This must include experience leading and working with a maintenance crew in the field to complete journeyman level work in at least two of the following trades including:
carpentry, electrical, plumbing, utility operations, water treatment, masonry, welding, and painting. Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of measuring instruments Knowledge of materials Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc (includes blueprinting reading) Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
